AJARN CHIWIN , Taifudo master

At the age of  six years, Ajarn Chiwin was first exposed to martial arts when his grandfather took him along to the local Hakka Chinese Association, the gathering place for many Tai Chi and Kung Fu practitioners, and the venue where he learned his first grappling locks (Qin Na) and saw shadow boxing for the first time.
 
Ajarn Chiwin's youth was spent studying various arts:  Judo, boxing, karate, tae kwon do, traditional Thai arts, Aikido and Chinese arts (kung fu and Tai Chi), and as such he sees value in martial systems from all cultures.

 

By his early twenties, he was already teaching his own self-defence system, TAI FU DO, which has drawn from and pays homage to all the systems he studied previously.  TAI (with reference to Tai Chi, Muay Thai, and other Thai arts), FU (Chinese arts: Nan Chuan ,Tai Chi , Wing Chun) DO / DAO (Japanese and Korean arts).  This system has expanded, grown, and matured over the years in to the self-defence system and larger Association it is today.

Ajarn Chiwin spent time in Japan, and has demonstrated Thai arts in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.  His vast knowledge base is something he wishes to continue to develop, his dream being to strengthen and solidify the TAI FU DO Association as a collection of martial arts knowledge from all over the globe.

Ajarn Chiwin is a man whose entire life is devoted to all that martial arts embodies, including its physical, mental and spiritual aspects.  Such fine qualities are definitely things to seek out in a teacher and aspire to.
